A 32-year-old Grovetown man died after a crash on Interstate 20 in McDuffie County on Wednesday night. According to the Georgia State Patrol, David Austin Balfour was traveling westbound in a 2001 Ford Explorer around 11:20 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the road. Officers said the driver overcorrected, and the vehicle flipped several times until it hit the bottom of an embankment. Witnesses told officers the vehicle had been speeding. Balfour, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight, said McDuffie County Deputy Coroner Sammy Purvis.
